Hello! I am so glad you stopped by to learn more about me and check out my child care.
I was born and raised in Minnesota and have been around children of all ages my entire life! Being the oldest of 7 children provided me with exposure to child development and lots of interaction. While growing up, my mom provided child care and I was able to see this process take place right before my eyes! I learned much of what I know today from her!
To add to my experience with working with children, I babysat for family and friends during middle school through college. While earning my college degree in elementary and middle school teaching, I worked in the Osseo School District at Kidstop, a before and after school program, where I planned lessons, chaperoned field trips, and taught children in grades K-6.
I taught in the Anoka School District for eleven years before deciding to stay home with our first born. During those eleven years I was fortunate enough to be able to teach many children and get my Master's in K-12 literacy.
I am a life-long learner and believe that there is always current research that teaches us more about children and how to better instruct them. I continued to take classes for credit beyond my Master's degree to only help me be a better teacher.
July 2014, I became a mom to our first born son. It was after his birth that I decided to put my teaching career on hold in the public school setting and become a child care provider. Similar to my experiences as a classroom teacher, I am growing and learning in how to be the best provider for your child.
It is my desire to give your child a loving, nurturing, and an educational experience in my home.
